Born in Mexico City, Rosamaria Eisler is a printmaker, painter and educator whose inspiration comes from her daily experiences
Rosamaria received a MA from Adelphi University, Garden City, NY; a BA in Art Studio and Art History and Criticism from SUNY at Stony Brook, NY; and a BS in Chemistry from the Autonomous University of Morelos, Cuernavaca, Mexico.
While working 22 years in the Pharmaceutical industry in Mexico, NJ, MD, and in NY, Rosamaria studied art with private instructors. Once again she returned full time to college to study Art. For many years she painted outdoors and in her studio. In 1995 she was introduced to Printmaking. Since then, she has been creating her art using different processes, such: Intaglio, Relief and Monotypes, always experimenting. Rosamaria has been an assistant to Master Printmakers, in NY and twice in Florence Italy.
From 1999 to 2009, Rosamaria worked as an Adjunct Professor in Adelphi University, Art department. She is a Printmaker Instructor at the Victor D’Amico Institute of Art: The Art Barge in Amagansett, NY, and at the School of Arts of the East End Arts where she is currently the Artist in Residence (September through December 4, 2011).
An active member of several art associations, she has exhibited widely in Long Island: SUNY Stony Brook, St. Joseph College in Patchogue, Briarcliffe College in Bethapage, Adelphi University in Garden City, Ashwall Hall in Springs, Smithtownship Arts Council, and East End Arts Council to name a few. Her work has garnered numerous awards including, Best in Shows, and is in private collections.
When Rosamaria Eisler is not teaching, studying, traveling or volunteering in all facets of art , including printmaking demonstrations and art lectures, she spends her time painting outdoors and printing in her studio in Ridge, NY where she resides.
